The optometrist is a front-line, independant professional with a PhD in optometry. They are trained to evaluate and treat visual problems by prescribing glasses, lenses, contact or orthoptic lenses, as well as to evaluate and treat problems with the global health of the eye and its appendages. Their intervention is part of front-line and specialized medical care.

Refraction : the lenses’ strength to gain optimal acuity (ametropia)

Binocularity : measures the ease to use both eyes simultaneously

Pupillary reflexes : pupil’s reaction to various stimuli, especially light

Colour vision : colour perception

Ocular health : evaluation of the eye’s global health

Ocular emergeny : burns, foreign bodies, allergies, vision problems, pain, etc.

They are a front line worker prepared and trained to meet the client’s needs and to provide them with information about the best choice regarding solutions for oculo-visual products, provision of services and referral to other vision specialists.The optician works with the prescription given by the optometrist and follows the appropriate steps when making the glasses. He has the ability to take professional actions such as measuring and adjusting contact lenses.

Both the optometrist and the optician closely work alongside each other in order to deliver a complete and professional service.

Our sales assistants are there to provide help regarding the frame and the ophtalmic lenses. They truly are the optician’s right-hand people since they help make perfect choices when it comes to frames. Their knowledge in optics is highly developped and their service is based on customers’ needs.

They are responsible for managing eye tests appointments. They greet customers, register them and get them ready for the exam. They administer the preparatory test for the eye exam and make sure clients are directed towards the proper services. Our receptionists play a key role in welcoming customers and and in customer service in general.

Ophtalmologists completed a ten-year university training, first in general medicine followed by a specialization in ophtalmology. Their role is to diagnose and to treat eye diseases by prescribing medicine or by proceeding to a surgical operation. Typically the optometrist refer patients who need more care to the ophtalmologist.
